The red carpet of fame leads through the Kelley School of Business Indianapolis building Tuesday as the “KelleyWood” celebration honors the some of the school’s notable alumni and the strong network that helps them succeed.
The “KelleyWood Alumni Walk of Fame” will be a star-studded event, complete with stars recognizing some of the program’s graduates in the area and beyond. Students will have an opportunity to meet local alums, register for free admission to the IU Business Conference and learn of the many ways Kelley helps students and alumni foster relationships.
Activities will take place from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday on the second floor of the BS building. A photographer will be available from 2-4 p.m. to take headshots of students.
Games, prizes, refreshments and information on the value of the Kelley network all will be available to participants.
“The message of KelleyWood is that it’s never too early for students to begin building a network of influential Kelley alumni,” said Tiffany Rife, assistant director of alumni and special events.
To illustrate the benefits of a strong professional network, different locations along the second floor will be dedicated to departments or organizations devoted to helping networks grow.
- The Career Planning Office will highlight the value of internships in professional development and the many networking opportunities hosted by the office.
- Various alumni organizations will be on hand to discuss their services.
- Staff will help students register for free admission to the business conference and access Kelley social media.
- Student government will help highlight the various stops along the “KelleyWood Alumni Walk of Fame.”
Students who visit all four learning alcoves will be eligible for a valuable Kelley prize pack.
The “KelleyWood” celebration will culminate with a meet-and-greet session between alumni, faculty, staff and students from 5-6p.m. in the orange learning space in the second-floor hallway. Associate Deans Philip Cochran and Ken Carow will provide opening remarks.
The event also will serve as a great opportunity for students to familiarize themselves more with the various student organizations on campus.
