The Kelley School of Business Indianapolis announces new members to its Board of Visitors, an influential group of business leaders working to guide the school toward continued success and impact.
Part of the unique experience that defines a Kelley education can be found in the strong partnerships the school has with the local business community. This Board allows the school to strengthen these partnerships and to ensure the Kelley School can provide Indiana business with access to the latest business techniques, outstanding students and nationally known faculty.
“Kelley students have the great advantage of learning about business where business is done, and with leaders from a wide range of industries,” said Philip Cochran, associate dean of Indianapolis Operations.
“By engaging the business community in the education of these future leaders, it really serves to benefit both sides,” he added.
New members joining this fall include: Doug Brown, CEO at the Fusion Alliance; Ken Bubp, executive vice president at The Mind Trust; Traci Dolan, CFO at Exact Target; John Gallo, executive vice president of business operations at Rolls Royce; Scott Hill, CEO at CIK Industries; David Klapper, president of the Klapper Family Foundation; Lisa Laughner, project director at Conexus; J. David Maas, vice president of finance and CFO at the Lumina Foundation for Education; Jim McClelland, president and CEO at Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana; Mike Petrie, president at P/R Mortgage and Investment Corp.; Joe Slaughter, CEO at Herff Jones; and Charlie Smith, president and CEO at CountryMark.
These members join an existing group of diverse business leaders with a wealth of experience and insight to share with the school, in and out of the classroom.

The fall meeting of the Board of Visitors will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 20 at the University Place Conference Center and Hotel.
The board will hear a State of the School address from Associate Dean Cochran, an update on enhancements to the nationally ranked Evening MBA program by Program Chair Vicki Smith-Daniels as well as a presentation on leadership by Dr. Richard Gunderman, president of the faculty at the IU School of Medicine.
Moving forward, the Board will play a key role in the strategic planning of the school by providing guidance and opportunities for students, staff and faculty. The Board will be asked to recommend ways to enhance the relationship between Kelley and the business community, to propose improvements to help the school meet industry needs and to evaluate the adequacy of Kelley facilities and resources.
