The Tobias Leadership Center is the beneficiary of a previously designated gift to Indiana University from the Randall L. Tobias Foundation. The center, renowned for its research and education in leadership, will have enhanced resources to prepare leaders for 21st century challenges.
The gift of real estate will be invested to increase the center’s endowment, generating sustained funding to advance key programs, such as the Tobias Fellows Program and the Oral History Project.
“We are grateful for Ambassador Tobias’ ongoing support. His vision for a preeminent place to research, discuss, debate, and determine the critical quality of leadership is the cornerstone of our work to educate impactful leaders,” said Julie Manning Magid, executive and academic director of the center and vice dean of the Kelley School of Business Indianapolis. “The leaders we develop are the true beneficiaries of Ambassador Tobias’ gift. It provides resources for educating seasoned leaders from diverse sectors and industries to take on the complexities and demands of modern leadership.”
Founded in 2004, the Tobias Leadership Center is celebrating its 20th year of empowering leaders to develop people, organizations, and communities to solve complex problems. It offers a distinctive learning environment at the intersection of the study and practice of leadership.
A key initiative through which the center disseminates leadership knowledge is the Tobias Fellows Program. The leading university-based active-learning leadership development program helps leaders across sectors broaden their horizons. Over the course of a year, fellows build relationships, gain actionable insights, and develop key leadership competencies—mindset, vision, perspective, collaboration, communication, and self-awareness—based on their unique abilities and circumstances.
