The Integrated Core (I-Core) at Kelley Indianapolis provides real-world experiences that challenge students to solve cross-functional business problems while developing professional and leadership skills. I-Core is a unique block of four courses Kelley Indianapolis students complete during their junior year, using skills they have acquired throughout their time at Kelley.
An I-Core first, Kelley Indianapolis Honors students used their knowledge to create a generative AI product development proposal, which they pitched to a panel of industry leaders.
Kelley Indianapolis Honors students learned how to use generative AI to craft the right prompts and instructions to create project components. Each team was challenged to think like entrepreneurs and create a new product for one of three industries: health and wellness, financial services, and emergency response.

AI is transforming the way businesses compete and operate. Companies are changing how they create, capture, and distribute value by putting AI and data at the center of their capabilities and generating impressive growth as a result. Students recognize the potential AI could have on their careers and should be taught how to use the software to unlock future growth potential. Creating opportunities and authentic learning experiences using generative AI helps students bolster their business skills and catapult their careers.
Students describe I-Core as a defining moment—filled with teamwork, creative problem solving, and determination— that builds a strong business knowledge foundation and allows them to embrace innovation. The Kelley Indianapolis I-Core faculty members who each teach various components needed for the I-Core project and help evaluate final projects include Jared Trullinger, Helen Colby, Kim Donahue and Vicki Daniels.
