INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana University Kelley School of Business Indianapolis, in collaboration with the Indiana University School of Medicine, proudly launched its Leadership and Business Acumen in Biomedical Research Program. The new training series is designed to empower IU School of Medicine faculty with the strategic, financial, and leadership skills needed to thrive in today’s dynamic biomedical research landscape.
The program, taught by a team of Kelley School of Business faculty, offers a hybrid learning experience that blends online coursework with immersive, in-residence sessions held on the IU Indianapolis campus. Participants will engage in five month-long modules covering essential topics such as:
- Strategic Planning and Market Analysis
- Financial Management and Decision-Making
- Project Management Methodologies
- Marketing, Branding, and Stakeholder Engagement
- Leadership Development and Team Management

Through this program, researchers will gain the tools to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and elevate their impact within IU and across the broader biomedical industry.
“This program is a game-changer for researchers who want to lead with vision and agility,” said Program Director Susannah Eastwick. “By integrating business principles with scientific expertise, we’re preparing our faculty to navigate complex challenges and lead high-performing teams.”
21 IU School of Medicine faculty members are a part of the first cohort. The next session will take place in 2026 with applications going live early 2026.
