Kelley Indianapolis turns 50 and we HAVE to celebrate

Today marks the beginning of the fall semester and the start of the Kelley Indianapolis 50th anniversary celebration. Our celebration will continue throughout the semester with special events, networking opportunities, and gatherings. Check out highlights for the coming week.

Welcome to BACK TO BUSINESS WEEK. This week is designed to welcome students back to school and provide opportunities to learn more about Kelley Indianapolis. Join us for a week filled with snacks and activities.

Think you know Kelley Indianapolis? Participate in our 50th anniversary trivia contest to be entered to win a swag bag. While you’re enjoying a special 50th anniversary cookie, share your goals for the new academic year on the Kelley Indy vision board. Come to the orange space during these times this week.

BS 2010 Window Design Competition

Are you looking to put your marketing skills to work? Want to design something that will be here for years to come? Enter the window design competition. The current decal on the BS 2010 windows was created in 2016 when the Moment to Momentum tagline launched. It depicts two students in different moments during their time at Kelley Indianapolis. The school’s 50th anniversary should guide your creative process. However, your design should remain timeless.

Prompt: The Kelley Indianapolis of Past, Present, and Future

Window dimensions: 57.5” H x 33.5” W

Rules:

1. Teams must consist of two to four current Kelley Indianapolis students.
2. Sign up by Thursday, Sept. 12 through this link to enter the contest.
3. The Adobe Suite must be used for the design (Illustrator).
4. Any design elements must use the CMYK, not RGB, color system.
5. The design must include at least a 1” bleed for printing.
6. Include a QR code that links to the 50th anniversary page.
7. Must follow IU Indianapolis brand guidelines. Guidelines can be found here. (Kelley Indianapolis lockups are provided here.)
8. Teams have until Friday, Oct. 11 to submit their designs.

Final submissions:

• Final submissions must be sent to Mackensie Neumann, and team leaders will be given instructions on how to complete them following the registration deadline.
• A one-minute video presenting your decision-making must be submitted alongside the design.

Judges will review submissions, announce the winners, and install the final design later this fall.

You Gotta Regatta

 

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 28! IU Indianapolis is hosting the 16th Annual IU Indianapolis Regatta competition, and we want to get the band back together to create a powerful Kelley Indy presence. We are looking for volunteers (students, alumni, faculty, or staff) to be on a team comprised of four to six people—four races and two handlers—who will race in the men’s, women’s, or co-ed divisions. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or a beginner, enjoy this experience because it’s a great team sport. You’ll learn to communicate, collaborate, and lead, all while building strong bonds with your teammates.

So what are you waiting for? Dive into this incredible journey with us. No prior experience is necessary—only a passion for adventure and a willingness to learn. Gather together a Regatta team, and let’s make waves!
