Tod Perry, associate professor of finance, and Kyle Anderson, clinical assistant professor of business economics, join Vice Dean Julie Manning Magid in leadership roles at the Kelley School of Business Indianapolis.
Perry is associate dean for faculty and research, and Anderson is the assistant dean of academic programs, while continuing as faculty chair for the top-ranked Evening MBA Program. Perry will develop clinical and lecturer faculty, manage scheduling, work closely with faculty program chairs and course coordinators and represent the school at department chair and deans of faculty meetings. Anderson will provide strategic oversight of academic programs, supervise program directors and represent Kelley Indianapolis at academic council meetings in Bloomington.
Perry has taught in all four Kelley MBA programs and has served Kelley and IU Indianapolis in several capacities, including as the Faculty Athletic Representative to the NCAA. As co-chair of the Athletics Committee Task Force for Vision 2024, he is helping to guide the campus transition from IUPUI to IU Indianapolis. He earned his PhD in Finance from the University of North Carolina, his J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School, and his bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. Before joining IU, he served on the faculty at Arizona State University and practiced law in Chicago, specializing in corporate finance and securities.
Perry’s primary areas of research are corporate finance and corporate governance, and he has several papers published in refereed finance, accounting, management and law journals including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Accounting Horizons, and the Strategic Management Journal.
“I look forward to working with our outstanding Kelley faculty to serve our students, the city, and state of Indiana during this time of change and transition in Indianapolis,” Perry said. “Kelley Indianapolis has an extensive history of creating a rich community that fosters quality research and instructional excellence. I’m excited to join Julie and Kyle to build upon the current culture that fosters innovation that creates consequential impact.”
Anderson joined the Kelley School as a student, earning both his MBA and PhD in Bloomington. In 2008, he began teaching at Kelley Indianapolis and was named faculty chair of the Evening MBA Program in 2018. He has won numerous teaching awards, including the Lilly Alumni MBA Teaching Excellence Award and the MBA Teaching Excellence Award.
In fall 2019, Anderson launched an enhanced Evening MBA curriculum, adding more real-world, hands-on learning experiences and ensuring students receive an innovative business education. Anderson has participated in the Kelley School’s Indiana Business Outlook panels around the state since 2009, and his economic expertise makes him a frequent source for media seeking comment on economic conditions.
“This is an exciting time at Kelley Indianapolis as we continue to expand our reach and impact on central Indiana and beyond,” said Anderson. “Kelley programs are leading the way in generating leadership talent and driving economic growth.”
