Faculty members honored with awards, recognition

A number of Kelley School faculty members at IUPUI received campus-wide, Kelley School and other awards and recognitions during the spring semester.

Jared Wilson, assistant professor of finance, and Mark Ippolito, senior lecturer in operations management, received the Trustees’ Teaching Award. The award is given to faculty at IUPUI who have a positive impact on learning for their students and demonstrate teaching excellence.

Amrou Awaysheh, assistant professor of operations management, received the Lilly Alumni MBA Teaching Excellence Award, the highest faculty award given each year to a professor in the Evening MBA Program.

Four professors received an Evening MBA Teaching Excellence Award this year:

  • Tod Perry, associate professor of finance
  • Josh Plaskoff, associate faculty

Evelyn Patterson, lecturer in accounting, received the Graduate Accounting Teaching Excellence Award, which is presented to the top faculty member in the Graduate Accounting Programs.

Six faculty members received the Schuyler F. Otteson Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award. This award is presented by the Kelley School of Business at IUPUI Student Government each year to both full-time and part-time faculty members teaching in the undergraduate program. The faculty members are nominated by students and chosen by student government.

Michael Steinhardt, lecturer in finance, received the Faculty Advisor of the Year award from the Kelley Indianapolis Student Government.

Lin Zheng, clinical associate professor of accounting, received a 2021  Women’s Leadership Award from IUPUI.

Darrell Brown, clinical associate professor of management, received the Kelley School of Business Faculty Service Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions within the past two years to the Kelley School of Business, IU, the academic profession, and the community.

Charlotte Westerhaus-Renfrow, clinical assistant professor of business law and management, was part of a six-person faculty team to receive the Innovative Teaching Award from the Kelley School of Business. The team (including faculty members Angela Aneiros, Tiesha Douglas, Stephanie Moore, Jennifer Pacella, April Sellers, and Westerhaus-Renfrow) researched and developed a new course for Kelley’s MBA program entitled  “In the Wake of #MeToo: Understanding and Responding to Sexual Misconduct and Gender(In)Equity in the Workplace.” Each instructor taught a one-week intensive to Kelley MBA students in Bloomington.
