In the weeks leading up to the IUPUI Top 100 Outstanding Students Recognition Dinner, we will be featuring our Kelley students who have been named a Top 100 for 2016.
What has been your favorite experience so far at Kelley?
My favorite experience with Kelley occurred last year in my “Introduction to Business” class with Professor Bob Grimm. We were his only honors section and had the opportunity to go on a trip to Louisville and Cincinnati to visit the headquarters of various companies. It was one of the most exciting trips I have ever been on because not only was I able to learn more about what career path I wanted to choose, but I also got to grow with my fellow classmates and make friendships that will last a lifetime.
What has been your favorite class and why?
My favorite class was definitely “Commercial Law” with Professor Judith Wright. I used to hate everything that dealt with politics, laws, and bureaucracy; however, Judith Wright made the class so fun and I learned so much. She was hilarious and always applied the concepts we were learning to current events that impacted us millennials.
If you had to pick one professor that has impacted you the most while at Kelley, who would it be?
I would have to say Judith Wright because not only did she teach me a substantial amount about commercial law, she also nominated me for Top 100. Without her encouragement, I would not have filled out the application and been recognized for such an incredible reward.
Where do you see yourself after you graduate?
My dream is to move to South Korea and live there for a year or two and become an international medical sales representative. I also hope to take some time for myself and build up an art site that will not only hold me accountable to consistently making artwork but also provide me a healthy outlet of stress.
Favorite activity/extracurricular activity that you have been involved in while at Kelley?
My favorite extracurricular has definitely been Women in Business.
What is your Kelley moment?
My Kelley moment actually occurred when I was on an Alternative Spring Break in Trinidad and Tobago. We went to Trinidad to help the northeast city, Toco, with developing an ecotourism plan and learning about marine preservation and aquatic environments. On our last full day of the trip, we met with St. David Development and Empowerment Organization (SDEDO) to work on these issues of eco-tourism. It was the first time that I was really able to apply all that I had been learning in my business courses to helping them create a strategic plan and I was excited to continue on with my education in Kelley so that I could help contribute to solving real world issues such as the one in Trinidad.
