INDIANAPOLIS (March 16, 2016) — The Kelley School of Business Evening MBA Program in Indianapolis is ranked sixth among 344 part-time MBA programs in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report rankings released today. This is the program’s highest ranking—and its fifth appearance in the Top 10 since U.S. News started ranking part-time MBA programs in 2011.
“The No. 6 ranking confirms that the Kelley Evening MBA is one of the elite professional MBA programs in the country,” said Philip L. Cochran, executive associate dean—Indianapolis and the Thomas Binford Chair in Corporate Citizenship. “Our mission is to transform lives through business education. By focusing on this, we enable our students to become confident, effective business leaders. It is an honor to have the efforts of our faculty, students, and alumni nationally recognized for the impact they make in Indiana and beyond.”
The U.S. News ranking, which is highly trusted, is based on five factors: average peer assessment score (50% of the overall score); average GMAT and GRE scores of students who entered in fall 2015 (15%); average undergraduate GPA (15%); average work experience (15%) and the percentage of total fall 2015 MBA enrollment that is part time. The average peer assessment score is calculated from a survey of business school deans and MBA program directors to rate part-time programs on a 5-point scale.
Other ranked part-time MBA programs in Indiana include Purdue University (#43), Butler University (#82) and Valparaiso University (#141).
“This new ranking reflects our emphases at Kelley to not only provide our students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed, but also to train them to think strategically, to equip them with the ‘people skills’ they will need to work at the executive level and to give them project opportunities in which they can demonstrate their mastery of new skills and expertise, opening new doors in their careers,” said Steven L. Jones, faculty chair of the Evening MBA Program and associate professor of finance.
“Yes, we have a world-class faculty and a top-flight academic program, but we also tie the program together with one of the most advanced career advising and professional development programs in our field,” Jones continued. “Our students thrive in a highly charged learning environment that encourages them to realize their potential.”
